ChatGPT Dots in the UK and EU: What to Use Instead (2026)

ChatGPT dots aren't on Pro in the UK, EU or Switzerland yet. Here's what the official routes cost and a $29.99 background agent you can use today.

Kevin·

ChatGPT dots aren't available on ChatGPT Pro in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, and OpenAI hasn't given a date for when they will be. As of October 2026, the only plan that includes a dot in Europe is ChatGPT Business Premium, a team plan that costs at least $120 a month on annual billing. If what you wanted from a dot is an agent that works through your inbox, calendar and research while you're away, you can set that up today with a scheduled background agent instead.

What are ChatGPT dots, and why can't you get one in the UK?

OpenAI announced dots at DevDay on September 29, 2026. A dot is an always-on agent inside ChatGPT. It runs on its own cloud computer with a browser, uses GPT-6 Astra, connects to more than 4,000 apps, and keeps working on the responsibilities you give it between conversations. You can talk to it in ChatGPT, Slack or Microsoft Teams, and it can do read-only "proactive research" in your connected apps without being asked (Fonearena, BetaNews).

The catch is the rollout. According to OpenAI's release notes, as summarized by Dots Guide and Agent Sonic:

  • ChatGPT Pro includes a dot for users aged 18 and over, but not in the EEA, Switzerland or the UK at launch.
  • ChatGPT Business Premium includes a dot in all supported regions, Europe included.
  • Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare workspaces get a beta that an admin has to switch on.
  • Free, Go and Plus don't include dots anywhere.

OpenAI says it plans to expand "soon" but hasn't named a date for Pro in Europe. Some people suggest a VPN. Don't: OpenAI's regional limits are part of its terms, and Dots Guide reports a user whose dot became unavailable when an unsupported location was detected.

What does the official route cost in the UK or EU?

If you want a real dot from Europe today, Business Premium is the way in. It's sold as seats inside a ChatGPT Business workspace, and Business has a two-seat minimum. You can mix one Premium seat with one cheaper Standard seat.

Prices as of October 2026, in US dollars (your local price in pounds or euros may differ):

OptionMonthly billingAnnual billingDot included in the UK/EU?
Zemith Professional (Cloud agent, not a dot)$29.99/mo$299.88/yrNot a dot; Cloud works in the UK and EU today
ChatGPT Plus$20/moNo
ChatGPT Profrom $100/moNo, excluded at launch
ChatGPT Business: 1 Premium + 1 Standard seat$150/mo ($125 + $25)$120/mo, or $1,440/yr ($100 + $20)Yes

Business Premium seat prices are from Appwrite's summary of OpenAI's Premium seats announcement and Pro from GEO Toolbox's ChatGPT pricing guide; OpenAI's own pricing and help pages blocked automated access when we checked on October 10, 2026. Zemith prices are from the Zemith pricing page.

So the cheapest legitimate dot in Europe costs about $1,440 a year, and you pay for a second seat whether you need it or not. That makes sense for a team that wants dots for several people. For one person who mainly wants an agent to handle mornings, it's a lot.

How to get a dot-style background agent without a dot

Most of what people describe wanting from a dot comes down to three jobs: watch my inbox and calendar, keep an eye on something on the web, and have it ready before I sit down. You can run all three on a schedule without an always-on agent. Here's a setup that works with any scheduled agent:

  1. Write one instruction per job, not one giant prompt. A morning briefing, a weekly client check and a deadline watch are three tasks. If one fails, the others still run.
  2. Give each task a fixed time in your own time zone. "Every weekday at 07:30, London time" is clearer than "every morning".
  3. Say exactly what to read and what to produce. For example: "Read my Outlook inbox from the last 24 hours and today's Outlook calendar. List emails that need a reply today, with one line on why. Flag meetings that clash or have no agenda. Save draft replies for the three most urgent emails, but don't send anything."
  4. Keep writes behind approval. Let the agent read freely, but make it ask before it sends, edits or deletes. That one rule is what makes background agents safe to leave alone.
  5. Get a notification, not a tab. You want a push on your phone when the briefing is ready or when the agent needs your OK.
  6. Review the first week, then tighten. Most instructions need two or three edits before the output is exactly what you'd have written yourself.

A dot does some of this on its own initiative. A scheduled agent does it because you told it when. For recurring work, that's usually what you want anyway: predictable output at a predictable time.

Doing it in Zemith Cloud

Zemith Cloud is the background agent in Zemith Professional ($29.99 a month, or $299.88 a year). You give it a task, close the app, and get a notification when it's finished or needs your approval. It runs on Zemith's servers, so your laptop can be off. It's available in the UK and EU today, on the web, iOS and Android.

What Professional includes, checked against Zemith's product code on October 10, 2026:

  • Schedules that run Once, Daily or Weekly at the time and Time zone you choose, up to 35 active schedules. Each run starts a fresh task.
  • Up to 3 tasks running at the same time, and you can send follow-up instructions to a task while it runs.
  • Tools inside each task: web search, image generation, a code sandbox that writes files and analyzes data, and your connected plugins, including Outlook Email, Outlook Calendar, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint, plus Notion, Linear, Airtable and Canva.
  • Approvals for writes. Reading your inbox or calendar runs freely. Sending an email, replying, creating or changing a calendar event asks first, and you get a "Needs approval" notification. For everyday actions like sending or replying you can choose Always allow; deletes always ask.
  • Cloud Projects with their own instructions and optional Cloud Memory, so a weekly task remembers what it found last week.

More on how it works is on the Zemith AI agent page.

A morning briefing on Microsoft 365, set up once

Say you work in Outlook and Teams in London and wanted a dot to get your day in order:

  1. Connect the Outlook Email and Outlook Calendar plugins in Zemith.
  2. Open Cloud in the sidebar, go to Schedules and choose New schedule.
  3. In Task instructions, paste the briefing instruction from step 3 above.
  4. Set Frequency to Daily, Time to 07:30 and Time zone to Europe/London. Put it in a Cloud Project called "Morning briefing" with Cloud Memory on, so it learns which senders matter.
  5. Choose Create schedule. Add a second, weekly schedule for Fridays: "Search the web for news about our three biggest clients this week and save a one-page summary as a Word document in my OneDrive." Saving to OneDrive waits for your approval.

At 07:30 you get a push. The briefing is in the task, the drafts are in your Outlook Drafts folder, and nothing has been sent. If you work across Microsoft 365 a lot, the Zemith vs Microsoft Copilot page shows where the two overlap.

Is Zemith Cloud the same as a ChatGPT dot?

No, and it's worth being clear about the differences before you pick:

  • It doesn't act on its own initiative. A dot can look for useful work in your apps without being asked. Cloud runs the tasks and schedules you set, nothing more.
  • There's no live browser. A dot has its own cloud computer and browser and can sign in to supported sites. Zemith's sandbox is headless: it can fetch pages and run scripts, but there's no desktop you watch or take over.
  • Far fewer apps. Dots reach more than 4,000 apps. Zemith's plugins cover Microsoft 365, Notion, Linear, Airtable and Canva. There's no Slack or Gmail plugin, and you can't message Cloud from Teams.
  • Schedules are once, daily or weekly. No hourly runs.
  • Deep research doesn't run inside Cloud. Cloud tasks can search and read the web, but for a long cited report, run deep research in a chat.

If you already use ChatGPT's own scheduled tasks and hit the cap, our guide to the ChatGPT scheduled tasks limit compares those plans with Cloud in detail.

Will ChatGPT dots come to the UK and Europe?

Probably, but nobody outside OpenAI knows when. OpenAI has said "soon" without a date, and EU and UK launches of its agent features have lagged the US before. Meta's competing agent, Muse, isn't available in Europe either. Two things to watch: OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes, which is where the Pro exclusion was first stated, and whether the first month's free dot usage on eligible plans turns into a separate charge once it ends.

If you need an agent now and dots arrive later, you haven't lost anything by starting with schedules. The instructions you write carry over to whichever agent you end up using.

The bottom line

ChatGPT dots are excluded from Pro in the UK, EEA and Switzerland, and the only European route, Business Premium, starts at about $120 a month for the required two seats. If you're a team that wants OpenAI's full always-on agent, that may be worth it. If you're one person who wants your inbox, calendar and a few web checks handled before you start work, Zemith Professional runs those on a schedule for $29.99 a month, with approval before anything is sent. Start with one morning briefing and see whether it covers what you wanted from a dot.
