Midjourney costs $10 to $120 a month with no free tier. Who it's worth it for, what Basic really includes, and a $15.99 plan with Flux, Nano Banana and chat.
Midjourney costs $10 a month on Basic, $30 on Standard, $60 on Pro and $120 on Mega, and there is no free tier or free trial on the main service. It is worth paying for if you want its particular painterly, art-directed look and you will make images every week. It is not worth it if you mainly need clean product shots, edits to a photo you already have, or a few images a month.
If that second group sounds like you, the cheaper way to act on it is Zemith Plus at $15.99 a month. It gives you Flux 2, Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, Seedream and GPT Image in one Creative Studio, plus background removal, object removal and upscaling, and Claude, GPT and Gemini chat for the prompts and captions. Zemith does not have a Midjourney model, so the look is different. What you get is a lower bill and the editing tools in the same place.
Prices as of September 2026, in US dollars. Midjourney's own plan page returned a 403 error to our requests, so these figures come from DIY AI's Midjourney pricing guide, published September 15, 2026, which says it checked them against Midjourney's plan comparison.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly (per month) | Fast GPU time | Relax mode |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $10 | $96 ($8) | 3.3 hours | No |
| Standard | $30 | $288 ($24) | 15 hours | Unlimited images |
| Pro | $60 | $576 ($48) | 30 hours | Unlimited images and SD video |
| Mega | $120 | $1,152 ($96) | 60 hours | Unlimited images and SD video |
Extra Fast time is $4 an hour and expires after 60 days. Unused plan time does not roll over. Companies earning more than $1 million a year need Pro or Mega for commercial use of what they generate. Pro also adds Stealth mode, which keeps your images private.
For most people it is $30 a month, not $10. Basic is limited to 3.3 Fast hours and has no Relax mode, so when the hours run out you either stop or buy more at $4 an hour. One review of the plans puts Basic at roughly 200 images a month. Standard adds unlimited Relax image generation, which is slower but never runs out, and that is the plan most regular users end up on.
So the honest yearly figures are $96 for a light user on Basic, $288 on Standard billed yearly, or $360 billed monthly.
Yes, if three things are true: you care most about its style, you generate often, and you are happy to work inside Midjourney's own tools. Illustrators, concept artists and people who make mood-led campaign images are the readers who get their money's worth. Its look is the product.
No, if your images have to be accurate. Product photos that must match the item you ship, graphics with readable text, and edits to an existing photo are jobs where other models are the better tool. We covered that split in Midjourney vs Nano Banana for product photos. And if you make fewer than a few dozen images a month, a free tier somewhere will do.
Zemith Plus gives you 1.5M credits a month, shared across chat, images and video. Image models are priced per image in Creative Studio's catalogue, as of October 2026:
| Model | Credits per image | Images from 1.5M credits |
|---|---|---|
| Flux 2 Dev | 5,800 | about 258 |
| Flux 2 Pro | 6,900 | about 217 |
| Seedream 4.5 | 10,400 | about 144 |
| Nano Banana 2 | from 12,700 | about 118 |
| Nano Banana Pro | from 25,300 | about 59 |
| Clarity Pro upscale | 5,600 | about 267 |
Nano Banana prices are a floor: extra reference images can add a little, and Creative Studio shows the exact quote before you generate. The same credits also pay for chat, so a month that mixes both is a trade-off. Professional ($29.99 a month) doubles the allowance to 3M credits.
A realistic month for someone replacing Midjourney Standard:
That is about 1.44M of the 1.5M credits, with chat drawing on whatever is left, so heavier users should look at Professional or a top-up ($10 for 800,000 credits).
Plenty of people who search Midjourney's price also pay for a chatbot. Using ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month (Suprmind's price tracker, because chatgpt.com returned 403 to us):
That is $156 to $348 a year back. The saving needs your chat use to be moderate, because chat and images draw from the same 1.5M credits. And remember the trade: you give up Midjourney's look.
Say you make social images for a small brand.
For the model list, see the AI image generator page, and for the persona angle, Zemith for designers.
Stay if the aesthetic is the point. Zemith does not offer a Midjourney model, so nothing in it will reproduce that exact look, and Midjourney's community, style references and personalization tools are its own. Stay on Pro if you need Stealth mode or heavy unlimited Relax video. Also stay on Basic if images are your only AI spend and you make a few dozen a month: at $8 a month yearly it is cheaper than any all-in plan, including Zemith's.
We checked Midjourney's published plan structure through a third-party pricing guide dated September 15, 2026, because Midjourney's own documentation blocked our requests. We took ChatGPT Plus's price from a third-party tracker for the same reason. Zemith's plan prices and per-image credit costs come from its pricing configuration and model catalogue on October 31, 2026. We did not run image-quality tests between models, so try a few prompts in each before you commit.
Midjourney is worth its price for people who want that look and make images all month. For everyone else, $15.99 on Zemith Plus covers Flux, Nano Banana, Seedream and GPT Image, the editing and upscaling, and the chat to write the prompts, for less than Standard on its own.
