Every top model, with tools built in.
Search the web, run deep research, read files, create images and run code with GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and more.
TypingMind needs your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google API keys. A no-key alternative with Claude, Gemini and GPT on one $15.99 plan, and when BYOK is cheaper.
If you want a TypingMind alternative without API keys, pick a managed multi-model app: you pay one subscription, the app pays OpenAI, Anthropic and Google for you, and you never create a developer account or watch a usage bill. TypingMind itself can't do this. Its own FAQ says you need a working API key to use the app, the license only unlocks features, and every token is billed by the model provider on top. If you're happy managing keys and mostly chat, TypingMind is usually the cheaper route, as the math below shows.
The managed option we'd recommend is Zemith. **Zemith Plus is 15.99 a month** (179.88 a year) and gives you Claude 5.5 Sonnet, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grok, Kimi, Mistral and GPT 6 Luna in one chat, with no keys to paste. Web search, deep research, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, image and video generation and live voice are on the same plan, and it runs on web, iOS and Android with one login.
39, Extended 79 and Premium 99 (shown as 50% off 198). API usage, search keys and cloud sync are paid separately.15.99/month with 1.5 million credits. You don't need any API key, and you can switch models mid-chat. The top models (GPT 6.1 Sol, Claude 5.5 Opus) need Professional at 29.99/month.Prices and features as of October 2026, in US dollars:
| Upfront | Ongoing | API keys | Web search | Mobile | Other built-ins | |

| Zemith Plus | $0 | 15.99/mo or 179.88/yr, 1.5M credits a month | None | Built in, with cited sources | Web, iOS and Android apps | Deep research, Word/Excel/PowerPoint/PDF files, image and video generation, document projects, live voice |

TypingMind is a capable app. It offers a deep research plugin, PowerPoint and Word generator plugins, MCP support and a local-first design where your chats stay in your browser. The difference isn't features on a checklist. It's who holds the keys and who pays the providers.
Because the license is only half the bill, and the other half takes setup. To use Claude, GPT and Gemini in TypingMind, you open three developer accounts (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google), add a card to each, buy or allow prepaid credit, and paste three keys. Web search is another Google Cloud project for the Programmable Search key. Each provider bills separately, so you track three balances or set three spending limits yourself.
That's fine if you already have API accounts for work. It's a chore if you just want to compare Claude and Gemini on the same question. It also gets awkward on a phone: TypingMind's FAQ says there's no Android, iOS or iPad app, so you use the website from your home screen and keep your keys on each device you set up.
A managed app flips this. You get one bill with a fixed ceiling and nothing to rotate or revoke. And it works the same on your phone as on your laptop.
For pure chat, usually yes, and it's worth seeing why. The providers' own price lists, checked October 4, 2026:
2 per million input tokens, 10 per million output tokens (Anthropic pricing).2 input, 12 output for prompts up to 200k tokens (Gemini API pricing).0.10 input, 0.50 output (OpenAI API pricing).Take a typical chat message where the model reads 2,000 tokens (your prompt plus earlier messages) and writes 600. On Claude Sonnet 5.5 that's 0.004 in and 0.006 out, about one cent. Send 20 a day and the API costs about $6 a month.
On Zemith, the same message on Claude 5.5 Sonnet costs 2,276 credits (46 credits per 100 input tokens and 226 per 100 output tokens). So 1.5 million Plus credits cover about 650 of those messages a month, roughly the same 20 a day.
Over two years for that one-model, 20-messages-a-day user:
99 + 72 + 72 = **243**79 + 72 + 72 = **223**179.88 × 2 = **359.76**So if all you do is chat, and you're comfortable with keys, TypingMind wins on price. Zemith's credits cost more per token than buying tokens directly; that margin pays for the infrastructure you'd otherwise set up yourself.
Usage swings the numbers both ways. Long documents and long chats send more input tokens on both. Light users pay the API pennies but still pay Zemith 15.99. Heavy Sonnet users can go past Plus credits, where top-ups start at 10 for 800,000 credits. Budget models are cheap everywhere: on Zemith, a GPT 6 Luna message like the one above is 132 credits, so Plus covers more than 11,000 of them.
When chat isn't the only thing you pay for. Most people asking for a TypingMind alternative without API keys also want search, images or files, and each of those is another key and another bill in a BYOK setup.
Here's what changes on Zemith Plus:
A practical first week, if you're moving over:
TypingMind lets you export chats as JSON, so keep that export for your records. We haven't built an importer for it, so old chats stay in that file rather than moving into Zemith.
If you just want several models without keys and don't need tools, also look at Poe; our Zemith vs Poe comparison covers that choice. If the real question is whether to drop ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro for one plan, we covered that in ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro in one subscription.
On October 4, 2026, we read TypingMind's homepage, its in-app pricing table and FAQ, and its web search documentation, and the API price pages of Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. Zemith's model list, credit rates and plan prices come from its product code and pricing page on the same day. The cost examples are arithmetic from those published rates for an assumed message size, not a measurement of real usage, and we didn't benchmark response quality.
TypingMind is a good app for people who like owning their keys, and for pure chat it's cheaper. But if the reason you're searching is that you don't want API keys at all, a managed app is the answer, and Zemith Plus is the one we'd pick: Claude, Gemini, Grok and GPT on one $15.99 plan, with search, research, real files, images and native mobile apps included and nothing to set up.
