ChatGPT Go is about $8 and Plus is about $20 a month in the US. See what each adds, who needs which, and when a $15.99 multi-model plan beats both.
ChatGPT Go is about $8 a month in the US and gives you more messages with tools, more uploads, more image creation and more voice chats than the free plan, plus longer memory. ChatGPT Plus is about $20 a month and adds what Go leaves out: advanced GPT-6 reasoning, expanded deep research, Projects, scheduled tasks, custom GPTs and more Codex. If you mostly chat and upload the odd file, Go is enough. If your work depends on research, projects or recurring tasks, Go will feel like a wall and Plus is the plan to buy.
There's a third option if you also want Claude or Gemini, and don't want to pay $20 to get them: Zemith Plus is $15.99 a month, less than ChatGPT Plus. It puts Claude 5.5 Sonnet, GPT 6 Luna, Gemini, Grok and more in one chat, with web search, deep research, Word, PowerPoint and Excel files, image and video generation, and a Library for your own documents. It costs about twice what Go does, so it only makes sense if you'd use more than one model or the tools.
Prices as of October 18, 2026, in USD per month. ChatGPT prices are the US figures reported by third-party guides, because OpenAI's own page showed Singapore dollars:
| ChatGPT Go | ChatGPT Plus | Zemith Plus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | About $8 | About $20 | $15.99 ($14.99 yearly) |
| Models | OpenAI GPT-6 family | OpenAI GPT-6 family, advanced reasoning | GPT 6 Luna, Claude 5.5 Sonnet, Gemini, Grok, Mistral, Kimi and more |
| Deep research | Not listed (Free is limited) | Expanded | Yes, 100,000 credits per run |
| Projects | Not listed | Yes | Library Projects with up to 50 sources |
| Scheduled tasks | Not listed | Yes | Professional only |
| Custom GPTs | Not listed | Yes | No |
| Image generation | More than Free | More complex and accurate | Yes, many image models |
| Video generation | Not listed | Not listed | Yes, in Creative Studio |
| Coding agent (Codex) | Not listed | Expanded | No |
| Ads | May include ads | Not listed | Not listed |
Sources: OpenAI's pricing page (plan cards and comparison table), CometAPI's ChatGPT pricing guide and Zemith's own pricing. "Not listed" means OpenAI's page doesn't list it for that plan.
Go is worth it for a narrow group: people who use ChatGPT every day, hit the upload, image or voice limits on the free plan, and don't need research tools. It costs $12 a month less than Plus, which is the real argument for it.
It's not worth it if you came for Plus features. OpenAI's page lists deep research as limited on Free and doesn't list it under Go, while Plus gets "expanded deep research", Projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs. Go may also show ads, according to OpenAI. And because free ChatGPT already offers unlimited text chats, the jump from Free to Go is about volume, not capability. Third-party guides disagree on how many more messages Go gives you, so test the free plan for a week and see whether you really hit a wall before paying.
Yes, if one of these is true:
If none of that applies to you, $20 for ChatGPT alone is more than you need. If you also pay for Claude Pro ($20 a month, according to claude.com/pricing), the two together cost $40 a month and $480 a year, which is where the third option starts to matter.
You get every model in one chat, so the Go-or-Plus question becomes "which model for which job". As checked in Zemith's code on October 18, 2026, a Plus plan includes:
What it doesn't have: custom GPTs, a Codex-style coding agent, and scheduled tasks (those are Cloud, which is Professional only). The free plan is chat only, with Qwen, GPT Luna, Gemini Flash and DeepSeek Flash.
For the full product comparison, see Zemith vs ChatGPT and multi-model AI chat.
Zemith uses credits. Plus has 1.5 million a month. Here are worked examples from the catalog's rates, so you can compare with ChatGPT's message limits:
If someone runs out, a top-up is $10 for 800,000 credits. That's the trade-off against ChatGPT's flat plans: you choose how to spend credits, and a heavy daily user of one expensive model can burn through them.
Many people who consider Go also pay for Claude or Gemini. Here are the yearly totals on monthly billing at the list prices above:
| Combination | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Go + Claude Pro | $28 | $336 |
| ChatGPT Plus + Claude Pro | $40 | $480 |
| Zemith Plus | $15.99 | $191.88 |
| Zemith Plus, yearly plan | $14.99 | $179.88 |
ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro together cost $300.12 more a year than Zemith on the yearly plan. Go and Claude Pro together cost $156.12 more. Zemith Plus is still a different product from either: you get GPT 6 Luna rather than ChatGPT's full GPT-6 family, and Claude 5.5 Sonnet rather than Anthropic's own app, limits and Claude Code.
On October 18, 2026, we read OpenAI's pricing page for the feature list of each plan. It showed Singapore-dollar prices from our location, so the US figures of about $8 and $20 come from layer3labs and the CometAPI guide, which disagree with some older guides on limits. Claude Pro's $20 monthly price comes from claude.com/pricing. Zemith's prices, plans, models, credit rates and the Plus feature list were checked in Zemith's code and plan list. We compared published prices and documentation, and we didn't benchmark answers.
Go or Plus is a question about volume versus tools: Go gives you more of the free plan for $8, and Plus is where deep research, Projects and scheduled tasks start, at $20. If you want Claude, Gemini and ChatGPT's family in one place and a Word, PowerPoint or Excel file at the end of a chat, Zemith Plus is $15.99 and cheaper than Plus alone. Stay with ChatGPT Go if light, ChatGPT-only chat is all you do. The same budget logic for Google's plans is in Google AI Plus vs Pro, and the two-subscription math is in ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro in one subscription.
