Claude Motion is only on Team and Enterprise for now. Here's what it does, what a Team plan costs, and how to make code-animated videos on a $15.99 plan.
Claude motion graphics now have an official home: Claude Motion, which Anthropic launched in beta on October 8, 2026. As of October 2026 it's only on Claude Team and Enterprise, not Free, Pro or Max. If you're on Pro, or you work alone, you can still get the same kind of result today. Write a clear animation brief, have an AI write the animation as code with an open-source renderer such as HyperFrames, and export an MP4. Below is the brief, and two ways to run it without buying team seats.
Claude Motion makes short animated explainers from your own material: an animated chart for a board deck, a pricing comparison for a sales kickoff, an all-hands update. Anthropic's launch post says it doesn't use a video generation model. Instead, Claude writes code that animates your text, charts, shapes and images, so you can change any word, number or timing afterwards and download the result as an MP4. You can then open it in tools like Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Runway or Luma AI.
You start it by asking for an animation in any chat, picking Output and then Motion in the message box, or choosing a Motion template in the Artifacts tab (Anthropic help center).
The catch is the plan. On Claude's pricing page (checked October 13, 2026), Motion is marked as a beta for Team and Enterprise only. Pro and Max get Claude Dashboards, which launched the same day, but not Motion. Docs, Slides and Design are on every plan, including Free. Anthropic hasn't said when, or whether, Motion comes to Pro.
Motion graphics used to mean After Effects, a template marketplace, or a freelancer. The new approach is different: the animation is a web page that a renderer records frame by frame. An AI model is good at writing that page, and because it's code, "change the Q3 number to 18%" is a one-line edit rather than a re-render from scratch. Founders and small teams want this for launch clips, investor updates and product explainers they'd never budget a designer for.
It also explains why there are routes outside Anthropic's app. People were already doing the same thing with open-source renderers like HyperFrames (from HeyGen) and Remotion, driven by a coding agent.
Claude Team is sold for teams of 2 to 150 seats. As of October 2026, a Standard seat is $25 a month on monthly billing or $20 a month on annual billing (claude.com/pricing).
| Option (prices as of October 2026) | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Motion graphics to MP4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zemith Plus with the HyperFrames plugin | $15.99/mo | $179.88/yr | Yes, rendered in a cloud sandbox |
| Claude Pro + Claude Code + HyperFrames or Remotion (do it yourself) | $20/mo | $200/yr | Yes, on your own computer |
| Claude Team, 2 Standard seats | $50/mo | $480/yr | Yes, Claude Motion (beta) |
| Claude Pro or Max | from $20/mo | from $200/yr | No Motion |
If you already have a team on Claude, Motion is a nice extra in a plan you're paying for anyway. Buying a second seat only to get animations is the expensive way in.
Anthropic's own tip is to say who will watch it, where it will play and roughly how long it should be, and to attach your source material. That holds for every tool. Here's a brief you can copy and fill in:
Make a [15/30/45]-second animated explainer, rendered as an MP4.
Audience: [who watches it, e.g. existing customers, investors, my team]
Where it plays: [LinkedIn feed / landing page / slide in a pitch deck / all-hands]
Format: [16:9 1920x1080 / 9:16 1080x1920 / 1:1 1080x1080], 30 fps
Story, one line per scene:
1. (0-4s) Hook: [the one sentence people should remember]
2. (4-12s) [the problem or the before state]
3. (12-22s) [the key number or chart, e.g. "revenue grew from $40k to $95k"; data attached]
4. (22-30s) [what to do next, e.g. "Try it free at example.com"]
Style: [brand colors as hex codes], [font], [calm and minimal / energetic and bold].
Motion: text eases in word by word; numbers count up; bars grow from zero;
no more than one thing moving at a time; hold the last frame 2 seconds.
Use only the text, numbers and images I provide. Don't invent figures.A few things make the difference:
If you have Claude Pro and are comfortable in a terminal, you can do it yourself. Claude Code is included with Pro. HyperFrames is free and open source (Apache 2.0, no per-render fees), needs Node.js 22 or later and FFmpeg, and installs into Claude Code as a plugin. Its README gives the two commands: claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes, then claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes. Paste the brief into Claude Code, let it build the project, and run its render step to get an MP4 on your machine.
Remotion is the older option and works the same way. Its license is free for individuals and companies with up to three employees; bigger for-profit companies need a company license.
This route costs nothing beyond Pro, but you're installing Node and FFmpeg, debugging renders, and doing it at a desk. It isn't something you'll do from your phone between meetings.
Zemith has HyperFrames built in as a plugin, so the same code-to-video pipeline runs in a cloud sandbox from a normal chat. It's on Plus ($15.99 a month), and you can drive it with Claude 5.5 Sonnet, Gemini 3.1 Pro or GPT in the same plan. No Node, no FFmpeg, no HeyGen account.
A concrete example: a founder attaches a CSV of monthly signups, pastes the brief with "9:16, 20 seconds, numbers count up, our two brand colors", and gets a vertical clip for a LinkedIn launch post. Then they ask for a 16:9 version for the investor update in the same chat.
The rendering happens in Zemith's code sandbox, so it uses credits for sandbox time and for the model's tokens, not a flat fee per video. Plus includes 1.5 million credits a month.
If you want generated footage instead (real-looking people, places, camera moves), that's a different tool. Zemith's AI video generator in Creative Studio has Veo 3.1, Kling and Seedance for that. Motion graphics and video generation do different jobs, and plenty of explainers use both.
Anthropic's announcement lists Docs, Slides and Design as out of beta on every plan, and Motion separately for Team and Enterprise. The MP4 export described in Anthropic's help center belongs to Motion. If you need a downloadable video file on Free, Pro or Max, use one of the routes above.
Motion is a beta, and a lot isn't published yet:
Zemith's version has limits too. Keep clips short: each render step in the sandbox has a five-minute time limit, so a 15 to 60 second clip at 30 fps is the comfortable range. There's no drag-and-drop timeline editor like Motion's; you edit by asking in chat or by editing the source. And don't expect footage of people or places. Like Motion, it animates text, shapes, charts and the images you give it.
If your company already pays for Claude Team, try Motion: it's the most polished way to animate your own charts inside Claude. If you're on Pro and like the terminal, Claude Code with HyperFrames does the same job for free. If you want it without the setup, and with Claude, Gemini and GPT on one plan, Zemith Plus at $15.99 runs HyperFrames from a chat. See the AI agent features for what else the sandbox and plugins can do, and how founders use it on the Zemith for founders page.
