Turbo AI is worth it if you record most of your lectures. If you study from slides and PDFs and also pay for a chatbot, there's a cheaper setup.
Turbo AI is worth it if you record most of your lectures. Its free plan runs out quickly (reviewers report about two hours of lecture recording a month), and Turbo AI Unlimited costs $14.99 to $19.99 a month or up to $119.99 a year on the App Store as of October 2026. For a student who records three or four classes a week and studies from the notes it writes, that's fair. If you mostly study from slides, PDFs and readings, and you already pay $20 a month for ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro to explain things, you're paying twice for overlapping help.
For that second student, our pick is Zemith Plus, which is ours. It's $15.99 a month or $179.88 a year, and it replaces both bills. You upload your lecture PDFs, slides, readings and YouTube lectures to a Project (up to 50 sources), and it makes flashcards, quizzes, a podcast, a mind map, a study guide and a live phone call with your material. The chat next to those sources runs on Claude 5.5 Sonnet, Gemini, Grok and other models, and the same plan covers essay help, web search and Word or PowerPoint files, on web, iOS and Android.
Turbo AI sells one paid tier, Turbolearn Unlimited, and the price depends on the offer you're shown. The App Store listing lists several in-app purchases for it: 1 week at $9.99, 1 month at $14.99 or $19.99, 1 year at $69.99, $89.99 or $119.99, and a "50% Off Forever Monthly" offer at $7.49. turbo.ai has no pricing page (the /pricing address returns a 404), so you only see your price inside the app or at checkout. Reviews from October 2026 most often quote $19.99 monthly or $119.99 a year (AI Miracle's Turbo AI review).
Paying doesn't add new features. It removes the caps. Here's how the options compare as of October 19, 2026, in US dollars:
| Price | Lecture recording | Uploads | Study outputs | Chat | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zemith Plus | $15.99/mo or $179.88/yr | No live recorder. Upload audio or video up to 25 MB to transcribe (800 credits per started minute) | 50 sources per Project: PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, CSV, EPUB, web pages, YouTube | Flashcards, quiz, podcast, mind map, infographic, report (study guide), summary, phone call | Claude 5.5 Sonnet, Gemini, Grok 4.7, Kimi, Qwen and more, plus web search and file creation |
| Turbo AI Unlimited | $14.99 to $19.99/mo, $69.99 to $119.99/yr (App Store) | Unlimited, records in class and writes notes | Unlimited PDFs, docs, slides, videos | Notes, flashcards, quizzes, podcasts, premade AP study guides | Built-in chatbot (model not named) |
| Turbo AI free | $0 | About 2 hours a month (reported) | About 1 PDF (reported) | Notes, flashcards, quizzes, with caps | About 10 messages a month (reported) |
| Gemini Notebook (free) | $0 | No recorder. Accepts uploaded files | 50 sources per notebook, 100 notebooks | Flashcards, quizzes, Audio Overviews, with daily quotas | Gemini only |

It depends on where your material comes from.
Yes, if your classes live in the lecture. Turbo AI's core job is listening to a lecture and turning it into clean notes, and its own FAQ says it handles formulas, chemical equations and code. If your professor talks fast, posts thin slides and you'd otherwise be scribbling, a recorder that writes notes is worth $15 to $20 a month during the semester. Buy monthly in exam months rather than yearly if you only need it part of the year.
No, if your classes live in files. If the slides, readings and problem sets already hold what you're tested on, recording adds little. What you need is a way to turn those files into flashcards and practice questions, and an explainer for the parts you don't get. That second need is usually a $20 chatbot, and that's where paying for Turbo AI on top starts to cost real money.
Maybe not at all, if you're on a tight budget. Gemini Notebook does flashcards, quizzes and audio summaries from your uploads for free, within daily quotas. Try it for a week before paying anyone, us included.
Yes, but only lightly. Turbo AI's FAQ calls its free tier "generous" and says it includes note generation, flashcards and quizzes. The actual limits aren't on its site. Reviewers who tested it report roughly 2 hours of lecture recording, 1 PDF upload, a handful of quiz questions and about 10 chat messages a month, which is enough to try it on one or two classes, not a whole semester. Several App Store prices are introductory offers, so check what renews after the first week or month before you subscribe.
This is the math most students skip. Turbo AI's chatbot answers questions about your notes, but most students still keep ChatGPT Plus or Claude Pro (Anthropic) for essays, coding homework and explaining things from scratch. Both are $20 a month (ChatGPT pricing, Claude pricing).
So for a student paying for both, switching saves about $180 to $300 a year. The trade-off is live recording, covered below.
The point isn't another flashcard maker. It's that your study set and your explainer sit in one place, on one bill.
You pick the model that explains it best. Turbo AI doesn't name the model behind its chatbot. In a Zemith Project you ask Claude 5.5 Sonnet for careful written explanations, switch to Gemini 3.8 Flash for quick answers or Grok 4.7 for a second take, and the answers stay grounded in the files you uploaded. The chat with PDF page shows how that works.
You get more than cards from one upload. Each Studio output costs a fixed number of credits, and a Plus plan has 1.5 million a month:
A heavy exam week for one course (two flashcard decks, two quizzes, a podcast and a study guide) is 48,000 credits. Four courses for a month at that pace is under 800,000, which leaves room for chat, essay help and the occasional deep research run. The rest of the toolkit is on the Zemith for students page.
Say you have a biology final on December 14 covering eight lectures.
If a lecture only exists as your own recording, upload it to Zemith's transcription tool first, then add the transcript to the Project as a text file. A 50-minute lecture costs 40,000 credits to transcribe, and files must be under 25 MB, so a long phone recording may need to be compressed or split. That's fine for a few key lectures. It isn't a replacement for recording every class.
We read Turbo AI's App Store listing and its website on October 19, 2026. turbo.ai has no public pricing page, so prices come from the App Store's in-app purchase list and the free-plan caps from an October 2026 review, since Turbo AI doesn't publish them. Gemini Notebook limits come from Google's help center, and ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro prices from their pricing pages. Zemith's plan, models, Library outputs and credit costs were checked against the product's code the same day. We didn't run benchmarks or test note accuracy.
Pay for Turbo AI if recording lectures is how you study. If you study from slides and readings and you're also paying for ChatGPT or Claude, drop both for Zemith Plus: $15.99 a month gets you flashcards, quizzes, podcasts and a phone call from your own course files, plus Claude and Gemini for everything else, for less than the two subscriptions together. It's a good time to set it up, a few weeks before December finals.
Pay less than one AI subscription and get GPT, Claude, Gemini and more, plus 50+ AI tools.
